Clean Slate: Our Favorite Cleansers

Using a proper cleanser is one of the basic steps of skincare. When you cleanse your face, you are washing away a whole day (or night)’s worth of makeup and grime and also preparing your skin for the next steps in your skincare routine. The tricky part is finding the right cleanser; find one that’s too harsh and it will dry out your skin, find one that is too heavy and you may end up clogging your pores and breaking out. If choosing a cleanser leaves you feeling slightly confused, don’t worry. We’ve taken the guesswork out of it and chosen the best cleansers for you. Read on for our favorites.

Jan Marini Bioglycolic Oily Skin Cleansing Gel – This is the one for those of you with oily, acne-prone skin. Lots of products for oily skin can be a little over drying, which actually causes the skin to produce even more oil to compensate. This cleanser contains glycolic acid to cleanse deep into the pores and follicles, as well as glycerin to avoid over-drying the skin. It will also help refine and soften your skin’s texture.

Elemis Sensitive Cleansing Wash – People with sensitive skin must be really careful about what products they use, especially when it comes to cleansers. This one contains Thyme, German Chamomile and Lady’s Mantle to cleanse, hydrate and soothe sensitive skin. It also has anti-bacterial properties to zap any pesky zits.

Bliss Fabulous Foaming Face Wash – Formulated for all skin types, this 2-in-1 cleanser does double duty as a cleanser and exfoliant. It gently removes makeup and impurities, while the exfoliating beads gently buff away dead skin cells. It contains Milk Thistle, Rose Hip, Passion Flower and Chamomile to deliver additional vitamins and nutrients in an oil-free, gel formula.
